Summer Skin Essentials – Why Daily Sunscreen Matters
Here are some Korean skin products recommended for the Summer season.
As summer and holiday season begin, protecting the skin from UV damage becomes more important than ever. Healthy skin is beautiful skin — and consistent sun protection is one of the most effective ways to prevent premature aging, pigmentation, and long-term skin damage.
One simple habit I always recommend is checking the daily UV index on your phone before leaving the house. Depending on UV exposure, skin type, and activities, different sunscreen textures and filters may be more suitable.
For everyday use and especially under makeup, many patients prefer lightweight chemical sunscreens because of their elegant texture and invisible finish. Mineral sunscreens, on the other hand, are often ideal for sensitive or reactive skin, especially during intense sun exposure or after aesthetic treatments.
Korean skincare has transformed the sunscreen industry with innovative, skin-friendly formulations designed for daily wear. Some of my personal favorite K-Beauty sunscreens include:
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF50+
Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream SPF50+
SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50+
Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel SPF50+
d’Alba Waterfull Essence Sun Cream SPF50+
These sunscreens are especially loved for their lightweight textures, modern UV filters, natural glow finish, and comfortable daily wear without leaving a heavy or greasy feeling on the skin.
For longer periods outdoors, I also strongly recommend additional textile sun protection. Protective clothing, caps, or hats with a brim can help shield sensitive areas such as the face, ears, and neck from cumulative UV exposure. Today, there are many stylish and lightweight UPF-protective textiles available that combine functionality with comfort and elegance.
Especially during holidays, outdoor sports, hiking, beach days, or boating activities, sun-protective clothing can be an excellent complement to daily sunscreen use. Lightweight UV jackets, linen layers, and breathable long-sleeve pieces are simple but highly effective ways to support long-term skin health.
The most important rule: sunscreen should not only be used at the beach, but every single day — even on cloudy days and during everyday activities. Consistency is the true secret behind long-term healthy and youthful skin.
